MAGIC OF THE MOONRISE
magical moonrise
pink to blue, color spectrum
still water below
I woke up on Saturday morning with the image of the moonrise still on my mind. As I got ready for the day, I couldn't help but smile, remembering all the kids howling at the January Wolf Moon.
After Sapna on Friday, we headed out to Mickler's Landing to enjoy the first full moonrise of the year. We had no idea what a treat we were about to behold. As soon as we cleared the dunes, we all knew we were in for something special. The "oohs" and "ahhs" started right away. The kids immediately dove into the sand, hands first - building, constructing, and creating. They were looking for shells and sharks' teeth. One student brought along bags for everyone to collect their precious treasures.
No one really noticed at first. The moon snuck up, pink and translucent. But once we saw it, we could not look away. The moon with a spectrum of color from pink to blue, then the glassy, silver water below. Not only was this moment beautiful to view, it was beautiful to take in. To share with community. We are so proud of the group of families we have brought together and we are honored to share moments in time like this. Thank you to everyone who came out, we hope to see you all again at the next moonrise beach party!
